The city government of San Fernando led by Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag held a send-off ceremony program for the 200 “CSF Knights,”- Fernandino student-athletes – who will compete and represent the city in the upcoming Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) 2023.



MVC wished the athletes good luck during the ceremony yesterday at the Heroes Hall together with Vice Mayor BJ “Tiger” Lagman, City Councilor Brenz Gonzales, and CSFP Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Leonardo Zapanta.
Zapanta expressed their excitement for the athletes, coaches, chaperons, and technical officials who will compete in the sporting competition.


After a three-year hiatus caused by the pandemic, CLRAA returned for learners to have the opportunity to showcase, hone, and challenge their skills.
This year there will be official host province on each event in different locations in the region:
• Bataan Schools Division will host Taekwondo, Wushu, Arnis, and Volleyball;
• Balanga City Schools Division – Basketball, Basketball 3×3, and Table Tennis;
• Bulacan Schools Division – Tennis, Archery, and Gymnastics events;
• Malolos City Schools Division – Badminton and Wrestling;
• Nueva Ecija Schools Division – Chess, Futsal, and Softball;
• Pampanga Schools Division – Sepak Takraw events;
• Tarlac Province Schools Division – Football, Baseball, and Billiards; and
• Zambales Schools Division – Athletics, Boxing, Swimming, Dancesport, and Para Games.
The CSF Knights are set to compete in 9 sporting competitions like Arnis, Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Chess, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo and Volleyball (Girls).
Meanwhile, Mayor Caluag took the opportunity to talk to the student-athletes to share her programs and plans to better the sector for education in the City. The chief executive also assured further support from the City Government by providing subsidies and benefits to Fernandino athletes, especially those representing San Fernando.
