Mekeni Food Corporation held its annual blood donation drive, partnering with Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (JBL) to gather 43 bags of blood from dedicated employee volunteers. This effort, driven by a strong spirit of bayanihan, aligns with Mekeni’s commitment to community service and employee well-being.
“Through activities like this, we aim to instill a sense of bayanihan among our employees,” shared Marilou Uy, Mekeni’s Assistant Vice President for HR and Exports. “Not only does this help those in need, but it also supports our employees’ health, reducing risks of heart disease, cancer, and high cholesterol.”
Led by Mekeni’s Occupational Safety and Health Team, the event adhered to strict health protocols, ensuring that only qualified volunteers proceeded with the donation under JBL’s medical oversight.
For years, Mekeni has been a strong partner in helping local hospitals maintain blood supply. Through collaborations like this, they continue to provide a lifeline to communities in need.
