Miriam College kicks off Women’s Month with Dance Mob

Miriam College (MC) marked the beginning of Women’s Month with an energetic and empowering Dance Mob Celebration in Quezon City, Philippines.

Building on the success of last year’s MC Community Dance Mob, this year’s celebration kicked off with another dynamic flash mob on March 3, 2025. Organized by the Women and Gender Institute (WAGI), the Human Resources Division (HRD), the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), and the Marketing Communications Office (MCO), the event brought together students, faculty, staff, and administrators in a powerful show of unity and empowerment.

Carrying the theme “Towards a Just World: Advancing Rights, Equality, and Empowerment for Women and Girls Everywhere,” the event highlighted the collective action needed to create a more sustainable and equitable future for women and girls globally. The year 2025 also marked the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPfA), a pivotal global framework for gender equality. The BPfA has guided transformative policies focused on issues such as climate resilience, digital access, and intergenerational equality, emphasizing the importance of women’s leadership and participation in decision-making at all levels.

Miriam College, an institution dedicated to social transformation, reaffirmed its commitment to empowering the youth—particularly young women and girls—to become agents of peace, equality, and meaningful change.

The Dance Mob, which was open to all students, faculty, employees, and administrators from both the Quezon City and Nuvali campuses, provided an opportunity for participants to engage in a lively celebration of Women’s Month through movement, solidarity, and shared purpose.

“Move! Lead! Empower! MC Empowered Women!” was the rallying cry that echoed through the campus as participants expressed their commitment to women’s rights and empowerment.

Founded in 1926 by the Maryknoll Sisters of New York, Miriam College is a premier women’s Catholic educational institution. The college offers academic programs from the basic to the tertiary level at its main Quezon City campus. It also has a growing MC Nuvali branch in Laguna, which provides basic education for boys and girls, and is expanding with a new campus in Porac, Pampanga.
