The Department of Transportation (DOTr) secured the support of Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon for the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) South Extension project during a coordination meeting at the Mayor’s Office on September 2, 2025.

DOTr Assistant Secretary for Right of Way and Site Acquisition IC Calaguas stressed that the success of the project hinges on the cooperation of local government units, citing requirements such as permits and barangay clearances.

Mayor Biazon assured full backing from the city government and barangay officials, paving the way for smoother project implementation. The meeting was attended by DOTr officials, barangay captains, and city department heads, alongside PNR General Manager Deovanni Miranda.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has earlier directed the DOTr, led by Secretary Giovanni Lopez, to fast-track the NSCR’s completion.
