NLEX CORPORATION SPREADS HOLIDAY CHEER ACROSS COMMUNITIES

In the spirit of giving, NLEX Corporation has brought joy and generosity to its host communities along NLEX, SCTEX, and NLEX Connector through heartwarming holiday initiatives.

NLEX employees and the NLEX Road Warriors teamed up to brighten the lives of senior citizens and children in need. Elderly residents of the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly in San Juan, Manila, and Emmaus House of Apostolate in Malolos, Bulacan, were treated to a festive celebration complete with serenades, dance performances, and gifts of rice, milk, pantry staples, and toiletries.

In Sta. Cruz and Sampaloc, Manila, senior citizens received Christmas baskets, along with essential maintenance medicines and fresh fruits, spreading warmth and care during the holidays.

NLEX also made special visits to orphanages, donating electric fans, toys, toiletries, school supplies, and other essentials to Send the Light Foundation Orphanage in Mabalacat, Pampanga; Navotas Bahay Pag-asa; and Tahanang Mapagkalinga ni Madre Rita, Inc. in Guiguinto, Bulacan. The latter also benefited from the company’s annual “Toys for Tots” donation drive, a tradition upheld by all NLEX employees.

“Maraming salamat po at isa po kami sa napili ninyong matulungan ngayong Pasko. Nagbigay po kayo ng kasiyahan at inspirasyon sa mga batang nasa aming pangangalaga. Malaking bagay po ang ganitong activity,” shared Pastor Glen Balico of Send the Light Foundation Orphanage.

In recognition of valuable partnerships, NLEX distributed Christmas baskets to SCTEX community farm volunteers, barangay councils of NLEX, SCTEX, and NLEX Connector host communities, and NLEX Tullahan River clean-up volunteers. To support the clean-up efforts, the company donated essential equipment, including heavy-duty life vests, paddles, a boat, and a fiberglass extension ladder.

The Aeta community in Brgy. Dampe, Floridablanca, Pampanga, also received Christmas packs, meals, and toys, while exciting games and prizes added to their festive celebration.

NLEX extended its support to bus drivers through the 8th leg of its “See Clearly, Drive Safely” program. One hundred drivers were provided free eye consultations, visual accuracy examinations, and prescription eyeglasses to ensure their safety on the road during the holidays and beyond.

“This is our simple way of showing gratitude and support for our kababayans, especially those who have journeyed with us. Beyond material gifts, we aim to share the true spirit of Christmas—conveying love, hope, and appreciation,” said NLEX Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management Donna F. Marcelo.

This year, over 3,500 individuals and 10 organizations benefited from NLEX’s holiday initiatives, reflecting the company’s unwavering commitment to uplifting communities and spreading the Christmas spirit.

As a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the toll road arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), NLEX Corporation continues to care for the communities it serves, fostering meaningful connections and brighter futures for Filipinos.
