NLEX Corporation has completed a series of asset enhancement and preventive maintenance works along the 94-kilometer Subic–Clark–Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) to improve safety, comfort, and overall road reliability for motorists.
“We’re focused on delivering improvements that our motorists can truly feel on the road,” said NLEX President and General Manager Luis S. Reñon. “SCTEX has long been known for its scenic and well-maintained stretches, and we are committed to upholding that reputation by continuously investing in safety and reliability.”

Among the key upgrades were pavement repairs covering about 3,700 square meters from Dinalupihan to Tarlac, addressing uneven road surfaces and reducing potential hazards.
To further promote driver awareness, NLEX installed 22 new sets of rumble strips at strategic locations, bringing the total number of rumble strips along SCTEX to 26. These features provide gentle vibrations and audible cues that help keep motorists alert.
The company is also raising median guardrails by 30 cm from Dolores to Luisita to match the asphalt overlay works and maintain safety standards.
Earlier this year, NLEX also rolled out technology enhancements on SCTEX, improving toll system efficiency and enhancing the overall customer experience.
“These improvements form part of our continued efforts to maintain SCTEX as a world-class expressway built on safety, comfort, and reliability,” Reñon added.
NLEX Corporation is a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the toll road arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC).
