NLEX Corporation, together with its contractor, has renovated the St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel at the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) in Tarlac City. This is part of their effort to give back to the communities near them.
NLEX Corporation President and General Manager, J. Luigi L. Bautista, said this is a simple way to show appreciation for the soldiers who dedicate their lives to serving the country. NLEX hopes the renovated chapel will be a peaceful place where soldiers can find spiritual strength.
The chapel, built in the 1960s, has long served Catholic soldiers and nearby communities, especially in times of disaster. Over the years, it showed signs of wear, but it remained an important place of faith. NLEX recognized its value to those who work to keep peace, especially in the areas where the expressway runs, and decided to renovate it.
NOLCOM Deputy Commander Commo Karl A. Decapia thanked NLEX and everyone involved in the project. He encouraged soldiers to use the chapel to support and inspire one another.
This chapel renovation is part of NLEX’s efforts to help NOLCOM, which also included repairing the NOLCOM transient facility last year.
NLEX Corporation is part of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), which operates toll roads under Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC).
