Thus exclaimed Mayor Pogi Lazatin Jr. in a conversation over cups of coffee and tea at the conference room of the Mayorโ€™s Office as we all blurted out with laughter.

โ€œI was copying from my classmates since high school up to college,โ€ he said with a grin. โ€œAnd until now, I have been copying from my late father and the previous mayors. But, I made sure that we made them betterโ€.

Thereโ€™s nothing wrong with copying as long as you copy the good things and not the bad. And thatโ€™s why he is the Most Outstanding Local Chief Executive of the Philippines of a highly-urbanized city.

Kudos, Cong Pogi!

I was recently reading the traffic violations of motorcycles in the city for the years 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The most number of cases of the โ€œpasawaysโ€ are riders with no helmet at 6,198, 8,386 and 4,520, respectively; and, obstruction with 4,011, 3,687 and 583, respectively, as of today
.
Disregarding traffic lights is next with 2,460, 3,411 and 673, so far.

But I was surprised with the least number of apprehensions of riding a motorcycle with a child passenger which were only at 6, 3 and 4 cases.

Does this mean that enforcers do not see the little children โ€œsqueezedโ€ in between the parents?

Meanwhile, โ€œcounter-flowingโ€ violations have considerably gone way up this year with 1,319 apprehensions so far compared to 18 in 2022 and 245 in 2023, showing just so many โ€œkamoteโ€riders that donโ€™t have any patience at all.

Accidents involving motorcycles in the month of April was 84, with 18 of involving motorcycle on motorcycle while 42 have so far been recorded for May.

Thank God no deaths in those accidents occurred.

We donโ€™t want you to be part of that statistic.

Another commendable gesture of the Provincial Government of Pampanga is hiring the son of an OFW who died in Dubai last month.

Governor Delta instructed the hiring of Christian Moises Fajardo Gamboa, whose mother, Jenny Fajardo Gamboa, allegedly died of suffocation together with another OFW. This really shows how much Gov. Delta cares for his fellow Capampangans.

Luid caiu pu, Governor.
