The NLEX Corporation has provided an update on the ongoing repair of the Marilao Interchange Bridge, which was impacted by an incident on March 19.
To alleviate congestion in the northbound direction, an additional lane was opened on the evening of March 20, increasing the total number of usable lanes to three.
The repair works include the installation of vertical steel supports beneath the bridge, affecting lanes 2 and 3 (middle lanes).
To further ease traffic flow, a zipper lane will be opened in the southbound direction once conditions permit.
NLEX expects the necessary repairs to be completed within two weeks and assures motorists of its commitment to expediting the work to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.
To assist affected motorists, alternative routes have been posted on NLEX social media pages. Patrol and traffic marshals are also deployed in the area to provide guidance and assistance.
NLEX apologizes for any inconvenience and encourages motorists to stay updated through its social media channels, website, or hotline at 1-35000.
A live traffic feed is also available on the NLEX Facebook account.
