Coinciding with the founding anniversary of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Mabalacat City College inaugurated three (3) CHED-supported facilities: the MCC Learning Center at Barangay Sapang Biabas, the MCC Gymnasium and the MCC i-Lab.
The MCC Lifelong Center, which represents another innovative endeavor by Mabalacat City, aims to provide learning opportunities for the entire community, including Out-of-School Youth, Persons with Disabilities, the Elderly, and the Unemployed. The Lifelong Learning Center serves as a hub for various programs such as ShortTerm Courses, Corporate Courses, Life-Skill Courses, Hard-Skill Courses, and Literacy Programs. A manufacturing center for “Balacat Tea,” an innovation and research output of MCC students and faculty, will also be housed at the Learning Center will house.
The MCC Gymnasium, which will serve as the home for the Crimson Tribes, the MCC Sports Team, features a wood floor basketball court suitable for volleyball and badminton. The facility offers a professional and enjoyable environment for other sports activities.
The third facility to be inaugurated is the Macintosh technology-equipped MCC iLab. Launched by a 7.5 million grant from CHED, the i-Lab aligns with MCC’s commitment to embrace advanced facilities and technology to enhance education and enable faculty and students to engage in meaningful and diverse learning experiences, develop industry-suitable skills, and facilitate research and training.
MCC partnered with VXI Global Solutions to offer a Certificate Course on Contact Center Services. The Completion Ceremony for this was held today. This program, which falls under the Contract Education System, is designed by MCC in collaboration with VXI to meet the urgent workforce demands of the industry. The eleven students who received their Certificates of Completion will undergo a final assessment with VXI Clark, and are eligible for immediate employment.
Meanwhile, the day’s itinerary also included a visit to the MCC Lifelong Learning Center’s Sewing Facility, which is open to high school undergraduates. In collaboration with Luenthai, a garment manufacturing industry in Clark, MCC plans to launch a Certificate Program that will give a month-long training to learners who may secure employment upon completion of the program.
