In the spirit of inclusivity and recognition of the invaluable contributions of women in every sphere of life, Orica Philippines Inc.-Limay proudly celebrated Women’s Month with the launch of Women in Operation.
Under this program, six women were officially accepted as operators at its Limay Plant, led by Engr. Garla Ma E. Arcega, the first woman to be appointed the plant’s senior site manager.
This month serves as a reminder of the remarkable achievements, resilience, and unwavering dedication of women in shaping the world around us. The Women in Operation is a groundbreaking achievement which symbolized the company’s steadfast commitment to diversity, inclusion, and gender equality in the workplace.
“Orica honors not only the progress it made in gender equality but also reaffirms its commitment to fostering an environment where women thrive and excel,” said Garla Arcega, senior site manager of Orica Philippines Inc.-Limay.
The journey towards this milestone was not without its challenges. Breaking through the glass ceiling in a predominantly male-dominated industry required perseverance, competence, and resilience. By fostering a culture of inclusion and equity, it unlocks innovation, drives business growth, and creates a more dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Orica emphasized the transformative impact of having women in leadership roles. Their unique insights, problem-solving abilities, and empathetic leadership style have enriched the team dynamics and propelled the company towards greater success. Moreover, their presence has inspired other women within our organization to aim higher, break barriers, and pursue their professional aspirations with confidence.
“Orica Philippines proudly stands at the forefront of this movement, embracing diversity, empowering women, and shaping a brighter future for generations to come,” Arcega ended.
