𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠. 𝗖𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗹𝘂

FORMER President Digong Duterte is now detained at the facility of the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague in The Netherlands. Filipinos are divided on the legality of his so-called “surrender” or “arrest” and the pro-Duterte group and the Duterte Die Hard (DDS) have called for his return to the country…

Let us examine if the former strongman deserved to be tried for his alleged “crimes against humanity.”

Well, again a debate on whether the ICC has jurisdiction over him or not is already out of the question as he is already in the Netherlands and VP Sara herself said that her father will not return to the country anymore.

Who is this Digong, the 16th president of the republic? Okay, he is a tough guy from Davao City dubbed “The Punisher.” He is a long-time Davao City Mayor, a former DOJ prosecutor, a one-time Congressman, a one-time Davao vice mayor and a president for six years… indeed, the name Rodrigo Roa Duterte rings a bell.

He was able to make a name for himself in the field of politics because of his governance style… his relentless pursuit of criminals, his anti-illegal drugs stand and his now famous “kill, kill, kill” pronouncements and of course for his controversial rhetoric.
When he was campaigning in the 2016 presidential elections, we all heard what he promised – in six months, the illegal drug problem in the country will be over once he is elected… we all know the result of this – nothing! That until the end of his reign, illegal drugs and drug lords lord it over.

How about his jetski stunt to Panatag Shoal? He said upon winning the presidency, he will immediately ride a jetski and plant the Philippine flag at the said shoal –16-million Filipinos believe in him and as a result, he called all those who trusted what he said as “stupid”… China thrived at the South China Sea.

Then, the tough guy was elected president. In one of his speaking engagements he was quoted as saying, “Who is this stupid God? Istupido talaga itong putang ina kung ganoon. You created something perfect and then you think of an event that would tempt and destroy the quality of your work. How can you rationalize, ano maniwala ka?” In another engagement, he again cursed God by saying, “Pano ka maka react na yan, ang Diyos mo pinako sa krus…’tang inang yan, ako wala ng bilib. Ako ang Diyos tapos ipako mo ako, putang ina…sabihin ko, lightning, ubusin mo ito, sunugin mo lahat ng mga ire.”

Remember when he said, “Putang inang Pope na yan, dahil sa kanya nag-traffic sa Maynila.”

And yet, his supporters are now organizing a prayer vigil for this anti-Christ and anti-God guy?

How about cursing the Human Rights advocates and threatening to kill them? The COA people whom he also threatened to kill because they audit government transactions. The jailing of Senator Leila de Lima, the murder of those elected officials whom he labelled narco politicians, the killing of 30,000 lives under his so-called war on drugs and many more.

Since he cannot be prosecuted because when he was president, he was immune from suit, victims of his drug war went to the ICC and filed a case. Digong left ICC to escape accountability. He started teasing the international judges and prosecutors calling them names and also threatening to harm them.

In one senate hearing, he confessed to have killed several human beings… he admitted to have a death squad and even pointed to Senator dela Rosa as the leader of the Davao Death Squad. He also said, that he indeed ordered policemen to “encourage criminals to fight and draw their guns” so that the policemen will have the reason to kill them.

He said the ICC “Doesn’t scare him a bit.” He answered Congresswoman Brosas in a House QuadCom hearing by blatantly saying, “ICC ma’am? I am the, I am asking the ICC to hurry up! And if possible, come here and start their investigation tomorrow. This issue has been left hanging for so many years matagal ma’am baka mamatay na ako di ako maimbestiga. So, I am asking the ICC through you na magpunta na sila dito bukas umpisahan na nila ang imbestigation. And if I am found guilty, I will go to prison and rot there for all time.”

In the same QuadCom hearing, his answer to Congresswoman Luistro was full of bravado when asked that if the ICC will come, will he voluntarily submit himself —“Sipain ko pa sila ma’am…kung sila magpunta dito sipain ko. Punta ako dun’ sipain ko din sila, same.”

Those rhetorics are just samples of his so many bad statements against the ICC and admittance that he is a killer… yet, his supporters and family are now saying that his arrest was illegal and the ICC has no jurisdiction over him.

Pro-Duterte fans have deliberately forgotten what he said against God, against the Pope and against the ICC and also deliberately forgotten the thousands he killed and ordered killed.

The days of The Punisher are over. Finally, God judged him… finally, the wrath of God caught up to him. The ICC was just a tool that God used to send a message that He really exists and those who went against Him will be punished. “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain” is very clear in one of the 10 commandments.
