Over 7.7 million voters registered in Central Luzon for 2025 polls – COMELEC

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Central Luzon has reported a total of 7,733,454 registered voters for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections, following the completion of voter registration on September 30.

At a recent Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas event, COMELEC Regional Election Attorney Numer Lobo shared that Bulacan leads the region in voter numbers with 2,183,281 registered individuals. Pampanga follows with 1,682,684 voters, and Nueva Ecija ranks third with 1,625,351. Tarlac and Bataan take the fourth and fifth spots with 940,701 and 588,197 voters, respectively, while Zambales and Aurora have the fewest voters at 554,981 and 158,259.

Lobo also provided an update on the number of political aspirants following the October 1-8 filing period for certificates of candidacy (COCs). Across Central Luzon, there are now 3,564 individuals vying for various positions, from governor to sangguniang bayan members.

Lobo clarified the distinction between “aspirants” and “candidates,” stating that aspirants will become official candidates when the campaign period begins. For national positions, this starts on February 11, 2025, while the local campaign period commences on March 28, 2025.

Nueva Ecija leads with the most aspirants at 832, followed by Bulacan with 731, Pampanga with 598, Tarlac with 565, Zambales with 392, Bataan with 243, and Aurora with 185. (PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
