Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL), through its corporate social responsibility arm – the Philippine Airlines Foundation, Inc. (PALFI) – has partnered with the Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PHILSCA), the only state-run college in the country specializing in aeronautical and aviation education.

As part of the initial phase of the PAL and PHILSCA tie-up, PAL has pledged to donate aviation mechanical tools for students enrolled in the Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering courses of the aviation college.

“PAL’s partnership with PHILSCA is anchored on the shared commitment to invest in quality education in order to empower the next generation of aviation professionals and help them shape the future of the industry,” said PAL Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Atty. PHILSCA Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean Prof. Marwin M. Dela Cruz welcomed the donation, noting its impact on raising the institution’s training standards. “We are immensely grateful for the support of the country’s flag carrier through the PAL Foundation. This much-needed support will boost PHILSCA’s technical training standards in the fields of aeronautics, electronics, and supply chain management,” he said.

PALFI will donate essential training tools such as aircraft wire twister plier sets, control cable tensiometers, flare, compressors, and drill guns. The Foundation, in coordination with other PAL business units and offices, will also donate surplus materials that can serve as additional training aids, and help facilitate advanced training for PHILSCA faculty members through the PAL Aviation Training Center and the PAL Human Capital Department.
