Police Brigadier General Jean Salvador Fajardo has officially assumed leadership as the 35th Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), succeeding Police Brigadier General Redrico A. Maranan, who has been reassigned as the Regional Director of the Central Visayas Police.
A seasoned police officer with strong ties to PRO3, PBGen Fajardo previously served as the Provincial Director of Pampanga Police and the Intelligence Chief of the regional office. Her deep understanding of the region ensures a seamless leadership transition and continuity of critical initiatives.
In a historic move, PBGen Fajardo becomes the first female officer in the Philippine National Police (PNP) to hold the position of Regional Police Director nationwide. Her groundbreaking appointment is a testament to her exceptional leadership and accomplishments throughout her distinguished law enforcement career.
A lawyer and proud member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 1996, PBGen Fajardo brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She has previously served as Deputy Director for Operations of the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group, the first female PNP Spokesperson (and the longest-serving in PNP history), and as the first female Chief of the Public Information Office.
In her first directives, PBGen Fajardo urged all provincial and city police directors under PRO3 to focus on ensuring a safe and peaceful election period. She stressed the importance of maintaining the PNP’s apolitical stance and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
“Iisa lang ang hiling ng PNP leadership, at ito rin ang hiling ko: magtrabaho tayo nang maayos. Alam natin na likas na magagaling ang ating mga PNP personnel, kaya’t ang kailangan lang ay gawin natin ang tama at nararapat. This is not my standard but the standard of the PNP. Either we do our job or we don’t do it at all,” she emphasized.
PBGen Fajardo assured that there will be no immediate changes to existing policies and programs within PRO3, instead focusing on sustaining and improving ongoing initiatives. She expressed her commitment to build on the strong foundations set by her predecessors while cascading her directives at the right time.
Her historic appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for PRO3, inspiring both the police force and its stakeholders to achieve greater success in ensuring public safety and security, particularly during the crucial election period.
