PLDT Home boosts support for Women Entrepreneurs this Women’s Month

As more women across the Philippines turn online platforms into thriving businesses, PLDT Home is expanding its support for women-led enterprises through stronger connectivity, AI training, and programs designed to help businesses grow sustainably.

Recent data from the Philippine Commission on Women shows that women own 66% of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and lead 62% of newly registered businesses, highlighting their growing role as economic drivers and community builders nationwide.

PLDT Home has positioned connectivity as the backbone of women’s entrepreneurship. What started as support for home-based businesses during the pandemic has evolved into a nationwide movement, providing digital infrastructure that enables women to run efficient, competitive, and fully online ventures.

A key example is Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH), powered by PLDT Home. From a small online community, it has grown into a network of over 225,000 women entrepreneurs, one of the largest in the country, promoting financial independence, leadership, and business resilience.

“Women are already shaping the country’s entrepreneurial landscape in powerful ways,” said Menardo ‘Butch’ G. Jimenez, Jr.. “Our role is to ensure they have the digital infrastructure and future-ready capabilities to sustain and scale that impact. Connectivity today is more than access — it is an enabler of innovation, inclusion, and long-term growth.”

Deepening AI Capabilities for Women Entrepreneurs
PLDT Home continues to expand support beyond connectivity, providing skills development and innovation tools. Building on last year’s Gemini Academy in partnership with Google Philippines, the program returns to Madiskarte Moms with advanced discussions on artificial intelligence.

Participants learn to integrate AI across digital marketing, product innovation, operations management, and financial tracking, enabling mompreneurs to make data-driven decisions, streamline processes, and scale businesses sustainably in the digital economy.

Recognizing Sustainable Leadership
PLDT Home also celebrates long-term entrepreneurship through the annual Gawad Madiskarte Awards. On March 28, the 4th edition of the ceremony will honor outstanding mompreneurs who exemplify innovation, resilience, and sustainable growth, recognizing enterprises that generate livelihoods, support communities, and drive economic development.

By combining reliable connectivity, AI upskilling, and recognition programs, PLDT Home strengthens its ecosystem of support for women-led businesses. This Women’s Month, the company reinforces its belief that empowering women entrepreneurs creates positive ripple effects that strengthen families and communities.
