Authorities impounded three trucks transporting an estimated 75 tons of frozen boneless pork products in Sta. Maria, Bulacan on January 31 after drivers failed to present documents proving the legality and origin of the cargo.
The operation was conducted at around 10:10 a.m. by personnel of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 3 (RHPU3) while enforcing Republic Act No. 10883, Republic Act No. 4136, and Presidential Decree No. 96. The action forms part of the Philippine National Police’s intensified efforts to ensure road safety and compliance with transport regulations under the leadership of PNP Chief PGen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.
During the operation, three Isuzu trucks were flagged down and cited for multiple violations. Truck CCB 7627 was cited for non-wearing of seatbelt and failure to carry an Official Receipt. Truck CBJ 5161 was cited for non-wearing of seatbelts by both driver and passenger and for being unregistered. Truck CBP 1065 violated PD 96, did not wear seatbelts, and failed to carry a Certificate of Registration.
Upon inspection, drivers disclosed that the trucks were transporting frozen boneless pork products but could not present required documents proving the legality and provenance of the shipment. Verification through the Highway Patrol Group’s Vehicle Information Management System showed that the vehicles were not listed under any nationwide alarm or stolen vehicle database. The impounded trucks were turned over to the concerned HPG unit for further investigation and proper disposition.
PGen. Nartatez said the PNP will continue to strictly enforce transport laws and hold violators accountable, emphasizing that police operations aim to maintain order and safety on public roads.
The operation supports the PNP’s focused agenda on enhanced police operations and its continuing campaign against transport violations and unsafe cargo movement, aligned with the directive of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”
