The Pampanga Press Club (PPC) recently celebrated the success of its 2nd Invitational Golf Tournament held at the Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club in Lubao, Pampanga. The event, aimed at raising funds for the establishment of the PPC Journalism Institute (PPC-JI), was made possible through the support of generous sponsors and enthusiastic golfers.
PPC President Noel Tulabut expressed heartfelt thanks to the sponsors, participants, and supporters who helped make the event a success. “Your involvement is a testament to the community’s commitment to the future of journalism. The funds raised will go toward the creation of the PPC Journalism Institute, which will train the next generation of journalists with the skills to report fairly, accurately, and responsibly,” Tulabut said.
The golf tournament featured a prestigious tee-off ceremony led by Ret. Gen. PPC Chairwoman Tonette Orejas emphasized the importance of community support in realizing the PPC-JI’s vision. “We believe that responsible journalism is key to addressing the challenges of Pampanga’s development, and the institute will help foster the next generation of responsible media practitioners,” Orejas said.
Lincoln Baluyut, publisher of The Voice Newsweekly and former PPC president, served as chair of the golf tournament project.
The success of the event would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors, including Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, Senator Win Gatchalian, Beautéderm, Laus Group of Companies, Pagcor, Tarlac 2nd District congressional aspirant Vic Yap, Converge, EcoProtect, Landco, Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, JDN, GCash, NLEX Corporation, Savers Group Holdings Inc., and Best Western Plus Metro Clark, among many others. Local government officials and businesses from across the region also played a significant role in making the event a success.
Through the combined efforts of golfers, sponsors, and the community, the PPC was able to raise crucial funds to establish the PPC Journalism Institute, a major step forward in fostering excellence in journalism.
