Pag-IBIG Fund is promoting long-term savings among its members in Central Luzon through its voluntary Modified Pag-IBIG 2 (MP2) Savings program, which offers higher dividends than the regular savings program.
During the Philippine Information Agency’s “Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas,” Pag-IBIG Fund San Fernando Housing Business Center Manager Brenda Cao reported that members in Central Luzon saved a total of P6.81 billion through the MP2 program from July 2022 to September 2024 under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration.
“The MP2 program provides a flexible savings option with tax-free dividends, ideal for both active members and self-employed individuals,” Cao said. Members can save a minimum of P500 monthly or make a lump sum deposit, with savings locked in for at least five years, though participation can be extended.
In 2023, MP2 savings delivered a 7.05 percent dividend, offering a solid return on investment. The program also allows former members with at least 24 monthly savings before retirement to participate.
Pag-IBIG Fund encourages members to join the MP2 program to save for future needs like education, housing, or retirement. Interested members can register via the Virtual Pag-IBIG platform or visit a Pag-IBIG branch. (PIA Gitnang Luzon)
