Pasasalamat: Mekeni Marks 40 Years by Honoring the People Behind Every Flavor

Gratitude, pride, and heartfelt appreciation filled the air as Mekeni Food Corporation celebrated its 40th anniversary with a grand employee Thanksgiving on February 28, 2026, gathering more than 1,400 employees at the Laus Group Event Centre in a moving tribute to the people who have been part of the company’s journey.

With the theme “Pasasalamat: Apat na Dekadang Kwento sa Bawat Timpla,” the celebration honored the dedication, sacrifices, and shared stories of the Mekeni workforce—recognizing that behind every product, every flavor, and every milestone are the hardworking men and women who helped build the company through the years.

For Mekeni President Pruds Garcia, the occasion was more than a corporate milestone—it was a moment to reflect on the people whose passion and perseverance carried the company through four decades.

“Our 40-year journey is truly a story of our people,” Garcia said. “Behind every product we create are the hands, hearts, and stories of the individuals who pour their dedication into their work every day. This celebration is our simple way of saying thank you to the employees who have helped shape Mekeni into what it is today.”

The evening unfolded as a festive gathering of the Mekeni family, filled with laughter, music, and shared memories. Guest performers entertained the crowd, while employees celebrated not just the company’s achievements but also the friendships and bonds built within the organization over the years.

One of the highlights of the program was the Service Awards, where long-serving employees were recognized for their loyalty and years of dedication. For many honorees, the recognition symbolized decades of hard work, perseverance, and personal stories intertwined with the growth of the company.

The celebration also marked the unveiling of Mekeni’s renewed Vision, Mission, and Values, signaling the company’s commitment to move forward while remaining grounded in the principles that shaped its success.

“Our new vision, mission, and values will serve as our compass as we move into the future,” said Assistant Vice President for Marketing Kat Gomez-Schultz. “As Mekeni continues to grow, these guiding principles will remind us of who we are and the values that have carried us through the past 40 years.”

Adding another meaningful highlight to the celebration was a special employee recognition initiative honoring individuals who took on challenging targets and delivered exceptional results during Fiscal Year 2025. As a token of appreciation, these employees were rewarded with a celebratory Asian cruise from March 3 to 9, 2026, with stops in Ishigaki, Japan, and Keelung, Taiwan—a memorable experience recognizing their dedication and hard work.

Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and Exports Marilou Uy emphasized that the company’s success has always been rooted in its people.

“At Mekeni, our greatest strength has always been our employees,” Uy said. “Through initiatives like this Thanksgiving celebration and the employee cruise, we want them to feel how deeply valued they are. Their dedication and passion continue to drive the company forward.”

As Mekeni looks back on four decades of growth, the Thanksgiving celebration served as a heartfelt reminder that the company’s legacy is built not only on quality food products but also on the unwavering commitment of the people behind them.

Bound together by gratitude and shared purpose, the Mekeni family now moves forward with renewed inspiration—ready to write the next chapter of its story and continue creating moments, memories, and flavors that will last for generations to come.
