The Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG) extended its congratulations to the Pasig City Government, led by Mayor Vico Sotto, an M4GG convenor, for winning in the prestigious Bloomberg Philanthropies 2025–2026 Mayors Challenge.
Pasig City emerged as one of only 24 cities worldwide selected from more than 630 applications. The competition recognized the city’s innovative “Floating Parks” concept, which aims to create additional open spaces while restoring the historic connection of Pasigueños to the Pasig River.
Following successful prototyping and a series of community consultations, the city will receive a USD 1 million grant along with technical assistance. The funding will support the co-design and development of the floating parks in partnership with residents—from planning to operations.
M4GG described the recognition as a testament to Pasig’s commitment to inclusive and forward-thinking governance, highlighting how local innovation can earn global recognition.
