Philippine Airlines revives nonstop Manila–Sapporo Flights for Winter

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to bring back its seasonal nonstop flights between Manila and Sapporo, reconnecting Filipino and Japanese travelers to the scenic region of Hokkaido just in time for the winter holidays.

Starting November 24, 2025, until March 27, 2026, PAL will operate direct flights between Manila and New Chitose Airport in Sapporo every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday using its modern Airbus A321neo aircraft. The route is expected to resume each winter season moving forward.

The 168-seater A321neo features 12 Business Class and 156 Economy Class seats, with inflight entertainment and Wi-Fi connectivity.

“We are thrilled to announce the reopening of our direct flights from Manila to Sapporo, which will help us strengthen both bilateral relations and cultural ties with our Japanese counterparts,” said PAL President Richard Nuttall. “This route not only provides a convenient travel option for Filipino tourists and overseas workers but also opens doors for Japanese travelers to experience the Philippines’ vibrant culture and hospitality.”

The revival of the Sapporo route caters to growing demand, especially among winter travelers. Sapporo is famous for its world-class ski resorts, the annual Sapporo Snow Festival, and a dynamic mix of cultural and culinary experiences that attract visitors from around the globe.

This seasonal service marks PAL’s continued commitment to expand international connectivity. The airline already operates the **largest network of flights between the Philippines and Japan, including direct routes to Tokyo Narita, Tokyo Haneda, Osaka Kansai, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, as well as flights from Cebu to Osaka Kansai and Tokyo Narita.

PAL previously flew the Manila–Sapporo route from December 2018 to March 2020.
