Púpul ning Kalalangan showcases Kapampangan Creativity through Arts Month Workshop

Creativity and culture took the spotlight in Angeles City during Púpul ning Kalalangan: Katutuan at Tépángan, a multi-disciplinary workshop that brought together photography, fashion design and styling, and makeup and modelling as part of the city’s National Arts Month celebration on February 7, 2026.

The event was organized by the Angeles City Government under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin, through the City Tourism Office headed by Louie Lazatin, highlighting the city’s continued commitment to nurturing local talent and promoting Kapampangan creative excellence.

The workshop provided a platform where aspiring creatives and industry professionals gathered to exchange ideas, develop skills, and strengthen their craft.

Photography sessions were held at the Angeles City Library, where participants were mentored by respected local photographer Borj Menesses. He guided attendees on capturing compelling images through storytelling, purpose-driven composition, and creative vision.

Makeup and modelling sessions were led by makeup artist Anna Tiglao and international model Samantha Gomez. Both shared industry knowledge while helping participants build confidence, technical skills, and professionalism needed for stage and camera work.

The fashion design and styling component featured some of Angeles City’s leading designers and stylists, including Frederick Policarpio, Jojo Macapinlac, Marlon Tuazon, Mitch Viray, Philip Torres, Rosette Biag, and Rich Sabinian. They shared insights on design innovation, using personal style as a form of storytelling, and strengthening artistic identity.

The workshop concluded with a runway showcase at Plaza Anghel, where participants and local models presented their creations to the public.

More than a skills training session, Púpul ning Kalalangan: Katutuan at Tépángan served as a celebration of Kapampangan artistry, providing a space where creative talent was nurtured, artistic voices were amplified, and cultural identity was proudly expressed.

The Angeles City Government continues to support programs that promote artistic growth, empower local creatives, and strengthen cultural pride. Arts Month remains a key platform for showcasing local talent and celebrating the vibrant creative spirit of the city.
