RDC III approves ₱197.64-b Budget for 2027

The Regional Development Council III has approved a ₱197.64-billion Tier 2 budget for Fiscal Year 2027 following consultations with regional government agencies and state universities and colleges.

Hermogenes Ebdane Jr., RDC III chairperson and governor of Zambales, said the proposed budget will support programs aimed at accelerating inclusive economic growth, strengthening social services, improving governance, promoting environmental sustainability, and modernizing infrastructure across Central Luzon.

The approval was made during the council’s full meeting on March 23, with proposals aligned with the Central Luzon Regional Development Plan (CL-RDP) 2023–2028 Midterm Update, which outlines key strategies and priority programs for regional development.

Ebdane emphasized that the budget reflects a strategic direction focused on high-impact and responsive investments. “Our goal is not just to spend but to invest wisely, efficiently, and equitably,” he said.

Among the approved proposals are initiatives to boost food security, expand trade and investments, modernize agriculture and industry, and advance research, technology, and innovation. Environmental programs on ecosystem protection, natural resource management, and climate resilience were also endorsed.

The council likewise approved social development proposals earlier reviewed by its committee chaired by Lilia G. Pineda, covering priority sectors such as education, health, employment, housing, and social protection.

During the same meeting, RDC III also expressed support for key national programs, designated regional representatives to the 2026 Presidential Filipinnovation Awards National Selection Committee, and strengthened land use and spatial planning coordination through the reconstitution of its Regional Land Use Committee.
