Rains to prevail across PH on Monday

Most parts of the country will experience rainy weather on Monday due to the combined effects of the shear line and the northeast monsoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The shear line is expected to bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Caraga, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Sorsogon, Masbate, Camiguin, and Misamis Oriental. PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan will cause light rains across Cagayan Valley, the rest of the Visayas, the rest of the Bicol Region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience isolated light rains due to amihan, while the rest of Mindanao will likely have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA also forecast strong winds and rough seas over the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.
