SBMA turns over ₱1.465 Billion in revenue to National Treasury

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) formally remitted ₱1,465,478,485.70 in revenue earnings to the Department of Finance (DOF) on July 14, 2025, during a turnover ceremony held at the DOF Building, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Complex in Manila.

SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño presented a ceremonial check to Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, signifying the robust and consistent income generated by enterprises within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ).

“We gather today to celebrate the strength of good governance and nation-building as SBMA turns over ₱1.4 billion in dividends to the National Treasury,” said Secretary Recto, who noted that dividends are his preferred source of government funding, as they support national programs without increasing taxes.

Chairman Aliño explained that the remitted amount includes 50 percent of SBMA’s 2024 net earnings, totaling ₱798.3 million, as well as the remaining ₱667.2 million balance from the 2022 dividends.

Secretary Recto lauded SBMA’s evolving role in national development, stating, “Subic was envisioned to transform a former military base into a world-class investment hub that delivers jobs and opportunities for Filipinos.”

He also challenged SBMA to elevate its vision further: “Let’s continue raising the bar. Subic has the talent, location, and leadership to become not just a regional center, but a global economic player.”
