A total of 340 mall personnel and partners participated in a Sensitivity Training on Assisting Customers with Disabilities recently held at SM City Pampanga, reinforcing efforts to promote inclusive and customer-focused service.
The training was organized by SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls. The program featured video resource speakers, including Glenda Relova, who provided practical guidance on assisting customers with various conditions such as Down Syndrome, visual impairment, mobility challenges, Cerebral Palsy, and ADHD.
A highlight of the training was the face-to-face session with Dang Uy Koe, who shared insights on real-life situations commonly encountered in mall settings and how employees can respond with greater understanding and empathy.
Participants included security personnel, janitorial staff, managers, tenants, and SM retail affiliates who were equipped with essential knowledge on disability awareness, inclusive customer service, and fostering a safe and welcoming environment for persons with disabilities.
Leading the initiative were Bien Mateo, together with Mall Manager Charm Bacani, Assistant Mall Manager Engr. Lester Pamintuan, and Richard Caluyo.
The program underscores the continuing commitment of SM City Pampanga to create an accessible and inclusive mall environment where every customer is welcomed with respect, dignity, and care.
