SM City Clark, SM City Pampanga, SM City Telabastagan, and SM City San Fernando Downtown joined the nation in the observance of the 126th National Flag Day on May 28.
To mark this significant occasion, the respective malls held a flag-raising ceremony displaying a pristine Philippine flag. The event aimed to cultivate a sense of patriotism among mall employees, partner agencies, affiliates, tenants, business partners, active members of the local government, and the community.
National Flag Day commemorates the historic “Battle of Alapan” in Kawit, Cavite on May 28, 1898, where the Philippine flag was first unfolded.
Those present at the event included the SM Security Force, mall employees, affiliates, maintenance staff, with support from mall tenants.
Additionally, National Flag Day signals the commencement of activities leading up to the Independence Day celebration on June 12. Alongside the vibrant display of the Philippine flag’s symbolic colors throughout the mall, SM City Clark, SM City Pampanga, SM City Telabastagan, and SM City San Fernando Downtown organized events that promoted Filipino-made products.
These events included the Super Pinoy Food Trip and Super Pinoy Market, featuring local MSMEs, while Filipino talents were showcased in the Super Pinoy Music event from May 28 to June 12.
