SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet, Inc. (SNAP-Benguet), in partnership with the Aboitiz Foundation, formally turned over a solar power and connectivity system to Domolpos Community School in Barangay Tinongdan, Itogon, Benguet on December 17, 2025, providing reliable electricity and digital access to a remote school serving 16 students.
The turnover was led by SNAP President and CEO Joseph Yu and Barangay Tinongdan Chairman Edwin Atumpag, and was attended by Aboitiz Foundation Impact Lead Jowelle Ann R. Cruz, Department of Education–Benguet Division Senior Education Program Specialist Arvin R. Doman, school principal Philip Fowaya, as well as parents and students.

The project equipped the school with a 6-kilowatt-peak solar power system, battery storage, and internet connectivity, enabling uninterrupted school operations and access to digital learning tools. The installation is part of AuroraPH, the Aboitiz Foundation’s flagship initiative aimed at delivering renewable energy, connectivity, and digital education support to last-mile schools in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
In addition to the school installation, 22 solar-powered streetlights were turned over to the community, enhancing safety and visibility for students, teachers, and residents. SNAP-Benguet implemented the project, while the Aboitiz Foundation provided internet hardware and service support. SNAP also held a gift-giving activity for students, with additional donations generated through an employee-led volunteer program.
AuroraPH was piloted in 2024 in 11 schools nationwide, including several in Benguet, and continues to expand across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Through partnerships with government agencies, local communities, and technology providers, the program aims to establish sustainable infrastructure that advances quality education and digital inclusion in remote communities.
“By bringing renewable energy and connectivity to schools like Domolpos Community School, we create conducive conditions where our students’ creativity and confidence can grow,” Yu said. “We enable teachers to teach more effectively, and we inspire communities to imagine a wider future for their children.”
