SSS visits 8 delinquent employers in Angeles City

Social Security System (SSS) served notices to eight delinquent employers in Angeles City during its Run After Contributions Evaders (RACE) operation. They failed to remit their employees’ contributions between 2020 and 2023.

Luzon Central 2 Division Vice President Gloria Corazon Andrada stressed that employers must comply with the SSS Law in providing social security protection to their employees.

“We want to inform them [employers] that they only have 15 days to coordinate with their assigned account officers and settle their delinquencies. On the other hand, we also recognize the unprecedented financial constraints which hinders these businesses to make timely contribution payments. Thus, we are offering them an option to avail of our condonation program as well as flexible payment terms,” she said.

With this, the SSS official said delinquent employers can apply for the Contribution Penalty Condonation, Delinquency Management, and Restructuring Program to settle their delinquency in full or installment ranging from 12 to 48 months depending on the amount.

Andrada added that the religious remittance of their contributions will assure their employees of benefits from the SSS in times of sickness, maternity, unemployment due to involuntary separation, disability, retirement, and death.

About 77 employees will benefit from the collection of P6.25 million worth of past-due contributions in Angeles City.

Aside from the condonation program, Andrada also announced the launch of the Calamity Assistance Program for SSS members and pensioners affected by the southwest monsoon and Typhoon Egay.

“In order to become eligible for the calamity loan, members should have at least 36 monthly contributions, six of which should be posted within the last 12 months prior to the month of application,” she said.

Aside from the calamity loan, Social Security and Employees’ Compensation pensioners residing in declared calamity areas can avail of the three-month advance pension under the SSS Calamity Assistance Program. (PIA 3)
