A potential hostage-taking incident was averted in Baliwag after quick and coordinated action by local police led to the safe rescue of victims and the neutralization of the suspect.

Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Regional Director PBGEN Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. praised the bravery and readiness of the responding personnel. “I commend our personnel for their bravery, readiness, and quick thinking. Because of their timely and coordinated action, lives were saved and the suspect was neutralized without loss of life. Our commitment remains firm — to protect every member of our community, especially the most vulnerable,” Peñones said.

Authorities are continuing the investigation into the incident to ensure public safety and prevent similar threats in the future.
