Savers Group Holdings, Inc. chair Jaime ‘Jack’ Uy received the Diamond Award for Business from the Pampanga Press Club (PPC) on November 23. The award was given during the PPC’s 75th Anniversary Gala.
PPC cited Uy for his entrepreneurial journey which began with Jack’s Video, the video rental business which evolved to consumer electronics and then an appliance retail store, Saver’s Mart in 1986.
Amid adversities, Jack Uy continued traversing the business path, which brought to the fore Angeles City Cable Television Network (ACCTN) and Saver’s Mall after the Pinatubo eruption in 1991, and eventually multiple business ventures under the Savers Group Holdings, Inc. umbrella – including Savers Air Solution, Savers Industrial and Building Solutions, Volkslift Elevators, Best Western Plus Metro Clark and several restaurants housed within the 4-star hotel.
In receiving the Diamond Award, Jack Uy said “This recognition is both humbling and inspiring, as it reflects a journey that began in 1983 with Jack’s Video and grew into Savers Group Holdings, Inc., a testament to perseverance, adaptability, and community support.”
He expressed that the award “is not just a personal milestone—it is a tribute to the hardworking individuals who have been part of this journey, from my family to my dedicated team and our loyal customers. It also underscores the importance of vision and commitment in contributing to the economic growth of our beloved Pampanga.”
Uy thanked the Pampanga Press Club “for the meaningful recognition, and everyone who has supported me along the way. Let this serve as a reminder that with determination and a passion for service, we can achieve great things.”
On behalf of his younger brother, Converge ICT Solutions CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy, Jack Uy also received the Diamond Award for the fiber internet firm, whose digital infrastructure now provides premiere connectivity throughout the Philippines and some parts of Asia.
