Sen. Go, Gov. Yap grace opening of super health center in Victoria

SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go and Governor Susan Yap led the inauguration and opening of Tarlac’s newest Super Health Center (SHC) in Victoria town, December 13.

Go, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, cited the important roles of medical frontliners play in the community.

Go said health workers extended so much sacrifices in providing the needed medical services among the people, especially during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Nagpapalasamat po ako sa kanilang sakripisyo lalo na sa panahon ng pandemia. Hindi po natin makakamtan ito kung hindi dahil sa kanila,” Go said.

Go said that the SHC will be manned by health workers who will be managed by the local government after the national government, through the Department of Health, turns over the facility to its provincial and municipal counterparts.

The SHC in Victoria was realized after the lower house initiated its establishment under the Universal Health Care, citing the contribution of Tarlac 2nd District Rep. Christian Yap for its fulfilment.

Go noted that as the facility was completed with numerous services, the local government could expand its amenities to cater to more patients like a dialysis machine.

He also cited Gov. Yap’s efforts to coordinate with his office to establish more SHCs in Tarlac as part of the provincial government’s “Kalusugan Muna” program.

For her part, Gov. Yap thanked the tireless efforts of Go and for establishing another SHC in the province.

“I thank the good Senator Bong Go for the establishment of another Super Health Center in Tarlac province. This will be of big boost to the delivery of health services to our kababayan,” she said.

The senator added that the SHC will serve as venue to utilize PhilHealth members’ benefits and packages by applying it to the facility.

“You can use PhilHealth packages here. You can have checkup here for disease detection to prevent such disease worsen,” he said.

This means, he said, that people would no longer have to travel to distant medical facilities for such services as the SHC will offer basic medical assistance here.
