Software Engineer wins big in UnionBank and SSS UMID Pay Card Raffle Promo

Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank), in partnership with the Social Security System (SSS), recently surprised a lucky SSS member and UMID Pay Card holder with an early holiday gift. Through the UnionBank SSS UMID Pay Card AsenSSSo raffle promo, 29-year-old Joseph Niel Tuazon, a software engineer from Taguig City, drove away with the grand prize—a brand-new Nissan Navara pickup truck.

Tuazon, who frequently uses the SSS UMID Pay Card for money transfers, bill payments, and other transactions through UnionBank’s UB Online app, was thrilled when notified of his win. “I received a call and emails from UnionBank. It feels like a dream, and I couldn’t believe I had won something so big until I saw it in front of me,” he shared. Grateful for the opportunity, Tuazon added, “I hope raffles like this continue because they can help so many people.”

The SSS UMID Pay Card, which integrates banking services with SSS disbursements, is designed to streamline the experience for SSS members. Members who upgrade to the UnionBank SSS UMID Pay Card, use their accounts for transactions, and maintain a balance of at least Php2,000 are automatically entered in these raffles.

During the awarding ceremony at the SSS main office in Quezon City, representatives from both SSS and UnionBank celebrated Tuazon’s win. Key officials included SSS OIC Robert Joseph De Claro, UnionBank Corporate Banking Group Head Chett Bernad, and Consumer Retail Marketing Head Kenneth Mariano.

SSS Identity Management Manager Jose Antonio Salazar commented, “The success of the UMID Pay Card upgrade promo reflects our commitment to serving SSS members more effectively.” UnionBank Transaction Banking Center Head Ramon Duarte added, “This partnership exemplifies our ‘culture of co-creating’ with organizations that understand their members’ needs.”

UnionBank, awarded by SSS as “Best Collecting Partner” in the Universal Bank category, continues to deliver perks and rewards for its account holders.
