Spotlight on DOJ Agencies at ‘Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas’

Agencies under the Department of Justice (DOJ) were featured in the 14th episode of “Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas”, Philippine Information Agency’s nationwide synchronized press briefing held Tuesday, 27 August.

In Central Luzon, Regional Prosecutor Jesus Simbulan highlighted the role of the National Prosecution Service, focusing on its responsibilities in case build-up, inquest proceedings, and preliminary investigation.

Regional Public Attorney Jan Steven Dunuan emphasized the Public Attorney Office’s commitment to assisting indigent clients with legal issues and noted that those unable to afford private legal services are welcome at any of the 40 district offices in Central Luzon.

Land Registration Authority Regional Director Lorna Dee, on the other hand, highlighted their recent innovations, including the Land Titling Computerization Project for improved title security and standardized processes. She also discussed the Anywhere-to-Anywhere or A2A service, which allows title requests from any computerized Registry of Deeds office, as well as the eSerbisyo Portal for online requests and the Citizen’s Land Registration Portal for pre-encoding transaction details.

Meanwhile, Parole and Probation Administration Regional Director Marissa Alquetra emphasized their multipronged programs, which include the therapeutic community for individual reformation, restorative justice for offender-victim reconciliation, and volunteerism to aid rehabilitation.

The Central Luzon edition of Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas is hosted by PIA Gitnang Luzon Regional Director William Beltran.
