Sunlight Air welcomes ATR 72-600, expands fleet and routes

Boutique airline Sunlight Air has officially welcomed the ATR 72-600 to its growing fleet, marking a new milestone in the company’s expansion and commitment to sustainable air travel.

The aircraft, which landed at Clark International Airport on October 3, complements Sunlight Air’s existing three ATR 72-500s and will begin commercial service on October 26, 2025, flying the routes Clark–Siargao, Siargao–Cebu, Cebu–Busuanga, and Busuanga–Clark.

Known for its fuel efficiency and low carbon emissions, the 68-seater ATR 72-600 strengthens the airline’s eco-friendly operations and enhances passenger comfort for short-haul regional flights.

“This new aircraft is a manifestation of our growth over the past few years,” said Ryna Brito-Garcia, CEO of Sunlight Air. “It aligns with our goal to continuously improve our services and expand our route offerings, connecting more travelers to beloved island destinations while showcasing Sunlight Air’s signature hospitality.”

Sunlight Air also announced its newest destination — Siquijor — with four weekly flights from Cebu beginning December 15, 2025, making it the first airline to offer direct Cebu–Siquijor flights.

The new ATR 72-600 was unveiled during an exclusive event on October 24, featuring Sunlight Air’s refreshed livery and updated logo. The celebration was made possible with the support of Sunlight Hotels and Resorts, Discovery Hotels & Resorts, Uni-Tech Philippines Industrial Machinery Inc., A&M Elite Aviation International Corp., LIPAD Corp., and the Clark Development Corporation.

Sunlight Air currently operates flights from Clark, Cebu, and Manila to top Philippine destinations including Boracay, Coron (Busuanga), Siargao, and Cagayan de Oro. Travelers can also enjoy all-in-one vacation packages through the airline’s Sunlight Vacations portal at www.sunlightair.ph/vacations.
