THREE-PEAT TRIUMPH: Pampanga News Now recognized at Bayanihan Media Awards

Pampanga News Now (PNN) has once again secured national recognition after clinching, for the third consecutive year, the Best Volunteerism Reporting–Digital Media award at the Bayanihan Media Awards (BMA), officially earning its place in the Hall of Fame.

The award was received by PNN Managing Editor Noel Tulabut, Editor Ria Isidro-de Fiesta, Tonette Orejas, and writer Marna del Rosario during the awarding ceremonies held at the Ayala Museum in Makati on December 16, 2025. The BMA trophy was presented by Ayala Foundation President Tony Lambino, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, and Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) Executive Director Donald James Gawe.

The Bayanihan Media Awards honors media practitioners and organizations that have significantly contributed to promoting volunteerism and underscoring its vital role in national development. According to the PNVSCA, the recognition also highlights the media’s role in advancing good governance, sustainable development, and nation-building by educating and informing the public.

Media entries were evaluated by a Board of Judges composed of experts from government, academe, and the private sector who are both media-oriented and advocates of volunteerism.

PNN was nominated by Pampanga State Agricultural University, with documentary requirements facilitated by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Gitnang Luzon, which endorsed screened nominees to the Regional Screening Committees designated by the Regional Development Council.

PNN first received the Bayanihan Media Awards in 2023, and its three-peat win affirms its sustained commitment to responsible journalism, community service, and storytelling that inspires volunteerism across the region and beyond.
