The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines underscored its long-term commitment to responsible tourism, climate action, and community partnership during the TPB Membersโ Night 2025: Community in Action, held on November 18, 2025 at Solaire Resort North. This yearโs theme, โCreative Upcycling,โ highlighted sustainability as a central pillar of the agencyโs direction moving forward.
TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles said the gathering served as both a celebration of collective achievements and a call to strengthen efforts in building a more sustainable tourism landscape. She emphasized that the impact of community-rooted initiativesโfrom livelihood programs to post-calamity supportโhas been evident across various regions. โTourism becomes truly meaningful when it uplifts communities, protects our natural heritage, and is pursued with purpose,โ Nograles said. โThe impact is real, and it proves the power of tourism when driven by intention and responsibility.โ

Nograles recognized TPB members for advancing responsible travel through familiarization tours and invitational activities in Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur, Tacloban City, Samar, Davao, Ilocos, Palawan, and Negros Island. These projects helped preserve cultural narratives, protect biodiversity, and strengthen destination resilience. She also highlighted CSR work in La Union, Batanes, and Catanduanes, where member-led initiatives supported community recovery and revived vulnerable tourism sites.

To reinforce environmental advocacy, TPB also announced support for the Philippine Tarsier Foundation through the countryโs participation in the World Expo 2025 Osakaโpart of broader conservation and sustainability programs promoting reduced plastic use, eco-friendly travel practices, and climate-responsive tourism activities.
A key highlight of the evening was the launch of the TPB Membership Recognition Program, which honors members demonstrating excellence in sustainability, responsible tourism, innovation, and inclusivity. This yearโs honorees included Neomace Travel and Tours and Ilocos Heritage Tours under the Tamaraw category for top domestic performance; Evasion Tropicale Inc. and Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort under the Tarsier category for environmental leadership; and Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort under the Tandikan category for inclusive workplace practices.
Over 300 TPB members from across the tourism value chain attended the event, reflecting the industryโs unified commitment to a climate-conscious and resilient future. As the night concluded, Nograles reaffirmed TPBโs mission: โOur work is far from over. We will continue to refine our practices, strengthen our climate initiatives, and pursue tourism that not only thrives but also protects. Together, we can ensure that the destinations we love endure for generations.โ
