Tanduay Especia Spiced Rum wins Double Gold and “Rum of the Year” at 2025 Asia Spirits Ratings

Tanduay Especia Spiced Rum has once again brought international honor to the Philippines, clinching the prestigious Double Gold Medal at the 2025 Asia Spirits Ratings in Hong Kong. In addition, it was named “Rum of the Year” and “Best Spirit of the Year by Value” for 2025.

“This award is not just for Tanduay, but for the entire country,” said Roy Kristoffer Sumang, International Business Development Manager of Tanduay. “We share this recognition with our hardworking team whose dedication and passion allow us to showcase Filipino craftsmanship to the world.”

In the Asia Spirits Ratings, spirits that score 96–100 points receive a Double Gold, while Gold is given for 90–95 points, Silver for 85–89, and Bronze for 80–84. Tanduay Especia Spiced Rum achieved the highest possible score— 96 points —earning top honors alongside Kenya’s Mara Gin. Judges praised its complex profile, highlighting “gingerbread and biscotti aromas opening to a layered palate of chocolate, almond, and nutmeg, finishing long with butterscotch and warm spice.”

Other Tanduay variants also earned acclaim: Tanduay Asian Rum Gold, Tanduay Double Rum, and Tanduay 10-Year-Old Rum received Silver Medals; while Embassy Whisky, Tanduay Overproof Rum, Tanduay Rhum Dark 5 Years, Tanduay Asian Rum Silver, Tanduay 1854, and Tanduay Superior were awarded Bronze Medals.

“These accolades inspire us to uphold Tanduay’s legacy of excellence—staying true to tradition while pushing innovation,” Sumang added.
