YOU can fool others but I donโt think that you can fool Tarlaqueรฑos.
A Facebook post of the city hall caught my undivided attentionโฆ the city hallโs Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) vehemently denying the involvement of the construction company โNorthern Buildersโ in any city hall contracts.
The construction company, as all Tarlaqueรฑos know, is owned by the husband and wife tandem of Tarlac City Mayor Cristy Angeles and Vic Angeles who are both running for an elective position in the coming May 12 election.
In an official statement, the city hall said that Northern Builders never participated in any bidding process conducted by the city government of Tarlac under the leadership of Mayor Cristy.
But Tarlaqueรฑos see a different thing. In every corner of the city where there is a construction, the equipment of Northern Builders and its personnel can be seen working and to top it all, Northern Builders is the one being identified as the contractor in most Tarlac City Commission On Audit project billboards.
How can the city hall leadership explain the COA project billboards identifying Northern Builders as the contractor and supplier of the Tarlac City General Hospital Main Building-Annex D (P97,950,967.39); Completion of Tarlac City General Hospital (P78,384,159.17); Tarlac City General Hospital Main Building-Annex E (P95,534,970.59); Tarlac City General Hospital Main Building-Annex G (P48,995,338.38) and the Tarlac City General Hospital-Annex C (P48,985,611.82).
How about the much controversial Gymnatorium amounting to almost P2-billion or the multi-billion peso canals along the major thoroughfares of Tarlac City? Allegedly, they were likewise constructed by the company of the mayor (as they opted not to display the project billboards of the COA).
Too many obvious things to see and to be scrutinized by Tarlaqueรฑos and mind you, these projects of the city hall are worth billions and only one benefits from it.
Now, can they still deny the fact that they indeed are gaining much from the left and right construction in the city of Tarlac? Glaring evidences.
They can say their piece, they can lie, they can malign non allies, they can hide the truth and they can corner every city hall contract with easeโฆ but thing one is for sure โ they cannot fool Tarlaqueรฑos!
