Unilab, the leading Filipino-owned pharmaceutical company, emphasizes the role of public-private partnerships in expanding healthcare access to communities, as it prepares to host health and wellness fairs in Pampanga to mark World Diabetes Month.
Claire Papa, Assistant Vice President and Head of External Affairs and Social Partnerships at Unilab, shared insights on the company’s collaboration with the government, calling it an “augmentation program” that supports established healthcare initiatives. Papa spoke at the recent KapiHann media forum, organized by the Pampanga Press Club and Hann Resorts, held at Swissotel Clark.
“We believe in partnerships, and our support aligns with existing government programs. This embodies our ‘Alagang Unilab’ campaign,” said Papa.
Unilab’s upcoming health and wellness fairs are set to take place in Mabalacat City (November 12), City of San Fernando (November 13), and Porac (November 14), offering services to 500 individuals pre-identified by local health offices with conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and other lifestyle diseases.
Papa clarified that the fairs are designed to be interactive and community-centered, providing a comfortable and engaging environment to encourage participation and learning about health.
Unilab, known for products like Biogesic, Bioflu, and Tiki-Tiki, has over 300 brands and an 80-year history of supporting Filipino health. The company also operates a manufacturing plant in Floridablanca, Pampanga.
