Unkabogable celebrity Vice Ganda will headline the opening ceremony of the 9th edition of the KanLahi (Kanlungan ng Lahi) Festival on January 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the historic Maria Cristina Park.
Vice Ganda, known for his dynamic presence, will be joined by celebrity comedians MC & Lassy, along with live performances from the band Six Part Invention and rising star Kyle Echarri.
The week-long KanLahi Festival, celebrated every first Monday of March, is a key event in the Department of Tourism’s calendar of festivities. The festival was first conceptualized in 2017 by Tarlac Governor Susan Yap.
The free-admission concert will also feature the sashing and media presentation of the Binibini and Ginoong KanLahi contestants, who will compete for the coveted titles of Binibini and Ginoong KanLahi.
Thousands of Tarlaqueños are expected to attend the exciting kick-off to show their support for the annual festival, which celebrates the culture and heritage of Tarlac.
In a Facebook post, Governor Yap invited all residents of Tarlac to attend the concert and be part of the festival’s grand opening.
“Kita-kits sa January 18 (Saturday) sa Maria Cristina Park para sa pinaka-bonggang simula ng KanLahi Festival,” the post read.
The KanLahi Festival is expected to bring together the community and visitors for a week of festivities that highlight Tarlac’s vibrant culture.
