A total of 12 local food and non-food exhibitors in Pampanga join the Manyali Tamu – Magpasikat Fair, which is part of the celebration of the 2023 National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Week. This trade fair aims to showcase the successes of local entrepreneurs in improving their businesses amid the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pampanga Business Development Division Chief Ma. Cristina Evangelista underscored that participants of the fair were beneficiaries of the five-module training conducted by the agency.
“The ‘Pasikatan’ is our module to capacitate our MSMEs in the digital marketing world. We teach them how to be techie, and how to develop and improve their social media presence,” she said.
She added that it is vital to ensure that local MSMEs are digitally driven in the advent of modern technology for better marketing opportunities.
Also, Evangelista thanked Kapampangan entrepreneurs for supporting DTI’s programs and further strengthening the partnership between the government, private sector, and MSMEs.
“Let us help each other so that we will be able to cope up with the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic,” she stated.
Data from DTI reflects that more than 90 percent of business enterprises in the province belong to the MSME group.
The trade fair will run until July 16 at SM City Telabastagan.
With the theme “Upgrade, Upskill, and Upsize MSMEs”, this year’s National MSME Week celebration focuses on engaging the government and the private sector to exchange knowledge on creating a conducive environment to empower MSMEs.
This is to enable them to overcome obstacles, enhance capabilities, and seize growth opportunities in today’s competitive business landscape. (PIA 3)
