The 10th edition of the annual KanLahi (KanLungan ng Lahi) Festival was once again featured live on GMA Network’s popular early morning program Unang Hirit during the opening day of the week-long celebration on March 2.
On-site hosts Kaloy Tingcungco and Lee Victor showcased Tarlac’s official provincial dish, Bagis, made from carabao meat, along with local favorites such as diningding and inasimang kulibangbang na manok. The live broadcast also highlighted an array of local delicacies including Black Kutsinta, Duman Yema, Butchi, Bibingkang Latik, Kalamay Monggo, Sumang Moryekos, Bringhin Puto-Puti, Tibok-Tibok de Suman, Patopat, Sabalangko, and Sumang Inangit.

Local products such as Chicharon Camiling, Pamana Tinapa (smoked chicken, liempo, pompano, and bangus), and cultured mushrooms were likewise featured.
Candidates of the Ginoo and Binibining KanLahi pageant, along with the Don Bosco Street Dancers, also appeared on the show. Several Tarlaqueños were selected to participate in the program’s featured game segment.
Governor Christian Tell Yap expressed his gratitude to GMA Network for its continued support of the festival.
This marks the fifth time the KanLahi Festival has been broadcast live on national television. In 2017 and 2019, the festival was featured on Umagang Kay Ganda over ABS-CBN, while Unang Hirit aired it in 2018, 2020, and again this year.
