Ten new ambulances purchased by the Municipal Government of Mexico were formally blessed in a ceremony led by Mayor Rodencio “Ruding” S. Gonzales, marking another step in strengthening emergency and healthcare services in the town’s barangays.
The ambulances were acquired using the municipality’s 20 percent Development Fund for 2025 and will be distributed to ten barangays to improve their capacity to respond to medical emergencies.

Rev. Fr. Dixie Paras officiated the blessing ceremony for the ambulances, as well as two newly acquired farm tractors and one harvester that the local government allocated to support the town’s agricultural sector.
The ambulances will be turned over to the barangays of Buenavista, Camuning, Culubasa, Gandus, San Jose Malino, San Miguel, San Pablo, San Vicente, Sto. Domingo, and Sto. Rosario. According to the municipal government, the units were requested by the barangays to further strengthen local healthcare services and ensure faster emergency response within their communities.

The local government also reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all 43 barangays in Mexico benefit from the municipality’s 20 percent Development Fund. In one instance, a portion of the allocation was temporarily redirected after Mayor Gonzales requested barangays to contribute a small share of their funds to support the construction of the Municipal Public Cemetery in Barangay Tangle, which is nearing completion and is expected to serve residents across the municipality.
Present during the blessing ceremony were Vice Mayor Dr. Jonathan Pangan and members of the Sangguniang Bayan, including Councilors Arch. Ariel Bonus, Allaine Ramos, Vince Balajadia, Trina Dizon-Guevarra, Ludet Sicat, Engr. Tristar Sotto, and Jaypee Gozun, along with the barangay captains of the recipient communities.
Through these initiatives, the municipal government under Mayor Gonzales reaffirmed its commitment to expanding healthcare services, supporting the agricultural sector, and ensuring that development programs provide concrete benefits to every barangay in Mexico.
