A total of 117 local government units (LGUs) in Central Luzon successfully passed the 2025 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) and were awarded the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced.
DSWD Regional Director Venus Rebuldela lauded the achievement, emphasizing the collective efforts of LGUs in fostering safe, nurturing, and rights-based environments for children.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all passers and conferees for their exemplary commitment to child-friendly governance. Let us continue to strengthen our partnerships and initiatives in ensuring the welfare and development of children in Central Luzon,” Rebuldela said.
She also acknowledged partner agencies for their support in sustaining programs that promote child welfare across the region.
Among the provinces, Nueva Ecija led with 27 LGUs, including the cities of Palayan, San Jose, Muñoz, and Cabanatuan, and municipalities such as San Leonardo, Santo Domingo, and Cuyapo. Pampanga followed with 20 LGUs, including Angeles City, Mabalacat City, City of San Fernando, and towns like Sasmuan, Guagua, and Floridablanca.
Bulacan had 20 passers, including San Jose del Monte City, Baliwag, Meycauayan, and Malolos, along with 16 municipalities. Tarlac recorded 18 passers including Tarlac City, La Paz, and Bamban. Bataan and Zambales each had 12 passers, while Aurora had eight LGUs recognized for their child-friendly initiatives.
The CFLGA is a results-based, annual audit designed to measure LGUs’ performance in implementing programs and policies that enhance children’s welfare. The assessment tool is adopted by the Council for the Welfare of Children for the conferment of the Child-Friendly Local Governance Seal and recognized by the Office of the President for the Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Cities and Municipalities.
This milestone highlights Central Luzon LGUs’ commitment to **creating safer, inclusive, and supportive communities for children.
