About 12,000 jobs will be up for grabs from 128 participating employers during the 2023 Independence Day job fairs in Central Luzon.
The 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood carries the theme “Kalayaan.Kinabukasan.Kasaysayan.”
Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office III Employment and Welfare Division Head Aurita Laxamana said the main job fair site for Central Luzon will be at Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos City.
Other venues include SM City Bataan, Robinsons Townville in Cabanatuan City, SM City Telabastagan, SM City Tarlac and SM Olongapo Central.
“As of June 6, we have recorded 11,714 local vacancies available to our six job fair sites on June 12,” Laxamana disclosed.
Among the employers that will join are from key employment generators in the region namely manufacturing, information technology/business process management, construction, and retail service.
The top 10 local job vacancies are production workers, customer service representatives, quality assurance inspector, sales associate, merchandise/store clerk, sewer, cashier, warehouse personnel, kitchen staff, and service crew.
Interested applicants are advised to pre-register at philjobnet.gov.ph.
Meanwhile, livelihood projects will also be awarded to poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers including parents of profiled child laborers in Bataan and Bulacan.
This is in line with the observance of World Day Against Child Labor, which also falls on June 12. (PIA 3)
