About 150 members of a newly-formed women’s group in San Jose, Tarlac benefited from the “How to Start a Business” training of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Organized by Negosyo Center San Jose, it aims to impart knowledge and give participants guidance on the processes of starting up a business to create for themselves an additional source of income.
DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo said it is high time to initiate such training since economic activities are increasing in the municipality because of eco-tourism.
“We hope that through this learning session, we were able to inspire the women of barangay Moriones to venture into businesses that would not only uplift their lives but also benefit their community,” Balilo said.
Business Counselor Jean Aquino discussed the importance of going into a business, rewards and risks of entrepreneurship, determining the product and service line, types of business according to ownership, determining the financial requirements, choosing the site location of the business, and registering a business.
She also tackled the trends and opportunities that they can enter into and the list of assistance and programs DTI provides for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
DTI pledged to continuously guide the participants in creating their businesses from registering their business name to developing and marketing their products. (PIA 3)
