About 4,000 residents in Bataan received financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program.
It was supervised by Senator Imee Marcos who is the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Social Justice, Welfare and Rural Development together with Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III.
The senator said that the assistance from the DSWD will help to meet the daily expenses and needs of the countrymen, especially since the country is now experiencing price increased in goods.
AICS serves as a safety net mechanism to support an individual’s recovery from unexpected crises such as fire, illness or death of a family member, disaster and other situations.
According to Social Welfare and Development Provincial Team Leader Ricky Gacayan, the beneficiaries were farmers, fishermen, single parents and others experiencing crisis in their lives received three thousand pesos aid each from the city of Balanga and the towns of Mariveles, Limay, Orion and Pilar.
