A total of 6,526 persons with disabilities (PWDs) from various towns in Pampanga received financial and medical aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Provincial Government of Pampanga during a weeklong distribution at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
The assistance was personally led by Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, joined by provincial board members, as part of the Capitol’s ongoing support programs for vulnerable sectors.

Vice Governor Pineda said the initiative reflects the province’s commitment to providing continuous financial, medical, and livelihood aid to priority groups.
“Our PWDs are among the sectoral groups we consistently support—along with Bantay Bayan volunteers, cancer patients, members of the National Council of Women, dialysis patients, and many others,” he said in Kapampangan.
This program is part of the provincial government’s push for inclusive and compassionate governance, ensuring comprehensive social protection for Kapampangans in need.
Among the beneficiaries was 68-year-old Merly Gomez of Mexico, Pampanga, who has lived with polio since childhood. She shared that the Capitol’s sustained support has given her renewed strength and stability through the years.
Beyond her regular assistance, Gomez also received help through the Capitol’s medical program, which allowed her to undergo a life-saving surgery last year to remove 42 kidney stones—a procedure she said would not have been possible without Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda’s administration.
Emotionally recalling her experience, Gomez said:
“I saw genuine love from Nanay. I have no parents anymore, but I saw in her the heart of a mother.”
For many PWD beneficiaries, the aid represents more than material support—it is a gesture of compassion, dignity, and unwavering public service from the provincial government.
“Nanay Pineda didn’t just give us financial help. She gave us hope and love, like that of a true mother,” Gomez added.
